Calling All Recreation Professionals: Share Your Resources!

What normally happens when you are looking for a fresh idea for a program or activity?  Perhaps you end up on Pinterest…  And if you’re anything like me, four hours later, you realize you can’t even remember what you were looking for in the first place, but you have 73 tabs open!

I am constantly getting lost in the mass amounts of information out there.  Not only on the internet, but in books, articles, emails, etc.  Like most, I want to be current, I want to have access to new and exciting ideas and inspiration.  But I don’t want to waste my time in doing so and so very often, I end up with several great activity ideas, but no time to create a purposeful program with them.

What do I want to do about it?  I want to create a “Master List”…  The idea of this is actually quite daunting, but, with the assistance of my fellow recreation professionals, I feel as though it is do-able.  I suspect it will take some time to create this list, but it is a goal!

What am I asking of you?

I am now looking for links to what you would consider MUST have resources. Is there a website that you rely on, or perhaps a textbook that you keep going back to after years of practice, maybe even an association’s website, another discipline that supports you in unique ways, places where you find inspiration for programs, CEU & education opportunities, etc, etc…

  1. Another place that you can get NCTRC pre-approved CEUs online and in your own time is SMART CEUs Hub.

All SMART CEUs Hub courses are created by Recreational Therapists throughout the country just like you who earn a percentage of the sale when you take their courses. Our courses are also affordable at only $12 per clock hour and apply directly to TR. Another benefit of our service is that our LMS system keeps track of all of your CE Certicates of Completion indefinetly in the cloud (accessable anytime from your personal account) so no need to file them away for 5 years 🙂
